A crown(cap) is a safe and effective treatment to prolong the life of a cracked,broken, heavily or root filled filled tooth. They can also be used to correct crooked or misaligned teeth.

They are carefully made to look natural and blend in with the surrounding teeth.

Traditionally crowns were made of gold or by bonding porcelain to metal to achieve a more tooth like appearance and in certain situations these types of crown are still used. Recent advances however now enable us to use all ceramic crowns. The advantage of these is an improved cosmetic appearance, looking far more natural and allowing more translucency, like a natural tooth.
